Tourists from outside the EU with a Schengen visa can now also travel to Croatia with this short-stay visa.
Tourism is an important economic driver for Croatia. The fact that you can now also pay with euros in the country is therefore an important boost for tourism in the Balkan country. Croatia has been a member of the European Union for almost ten years, but was previously denied permission to adopt the euro. Recently, the Croatian government received the word of salvation and permission from the EU to exchange the kuna for the euro. With Croatia added, you can now pay with the euro in twenty countries.
Travelers to Croatia can not only pay with euros, those who travel to the country by car or train from one of the other 26 Schengen countries no longer need to show a passport at a border crossing. This will no longer happen at the airports from the end of March.
The 4,5 million Croats, in turn, can travel freely through all Schengen countries including the Netherlands.
