Show your destination
When you are one visa for the Netherlands you must be able to demonstrate what your purpose of travel is.
Is your destination tourism? Then you have to prove this with, for example, a hotel reservation. If you come at the invitation of a partner or family, there is a referent (inviter) in the Netherlands. This sponsor has a valid residence permit or is a Dutch national. The sponsor uses the form 'Proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation' to demonstrate that he/she has invited you.
The visa application form (at question 21) lists 11 destinations:
- Tourism
- Sport
- Transit
- Affairs
- Officially
- Airport transit
- Visiting family or friends
- Medical reasons
- Culture
- Study
- Other (must be specified)
For all travel purposes, you must be able to demonstrate this with documents.
