Fees for applying for a visa
Below are the costs for applying for a Schengen visa from 2020. These costs are called 'leges' and must be paid at the visa application at the embassy or at Vfs global the external service provider. The fees must be paid in local currency.
Visum short stay (up to 90 days)

The costs for the service fee from VFS Global may not exceed € 40 (half of the fee for a visa application).
In the event of a visa refusal, you will NOT receive a refund of the fee paid.
Other costs
- When there is guarantee, then there are also costs for it legalize of the signature at the municipality. The fees differ per municipality, which varies between € 9 and € 20.
- You also have to take into account the costs for medical travel insurance. You can take out medical travel insurance from € 2 per person per day.
- After you have received the visa, you probably also need one airline ticket be purchased. The costs depend on the country of origin of the traveler and the offer of airlines.
