A medical travel insurance for a visit to the Netherlands for non-Dutch residents is mandatory for both travelers requiring a visa and non-visa-requiring foreign travelers.
If you travel to the Netherlands for a holiday or family visit, remember that conditions apply and that the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee at Schiphol or at the external borders also checks this. If you do not comply with this, access to a foreign traveller are being refused. For example, you are obliged to be insured for at least € 30.000 against medical costs and repatriation. Conditions for visa-free travel to the Netherlands

What is insured?
