Traveling to the Netherlands without a Schengen visa
Depending on the nationality of the foreign national, a Schengen visa must be applied for for a trip to the Netherlands. This applies to 62 nationalities visa-free travel to the Netherlands or other Schengen countries in Europe.
Strict rules also apply if the foreign national is allowed to travel to the Netherlands without a Schengen visa. For example, you can stay in the Netherlands for a maximum of 90 days without a visa.
Nationalities who are allowed to travel to the Netherlands without a visa
Below are the 62 nationalities that can travel visa-free to and within the Schengen area:

Visa-free travel conditions
If your nationality is in the above list, you can visit the Netherlands and the Schengen area without a visa. You still have to meet the following conditions:
- You have a passport or other travel document that is not older than 10 years.
- Your passport or travel document is valid for 3 months after departure.
- You can prove that you can pay for the entire stay (this is € 55 per day). If this does not work, you can ask someone to act as guarantor.
- You can demonstrate the purpose of your stay at the border control (family visit, partner visit, tourism, business trip, etc.).
- You can demonstrate that you are a medical travel insurance have adequate coverage.
- You have a ticket for the return journey or onward journey.
- You are not a threat to public order, national security or international relations.
Change in conditions for visa-free travel in 2021
Travelers who are allowed to travel to the Schengen area without a visa will have to request prior permission to visit these Schengen countries from 2021. This so-called travel authorization is not a visa. You request the travel authorization via the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS). The application can only be made online. It is not yet known when exactly the change will take effect.

For visa-free travel to the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom other conditions apply.
