The EU entry-exit system (EES) will be operational in 2022
To increase the security of the external borders in Europe, the EU will use a new entry and exit system at the external borders of the Schengen area. This system is called EES, which stands for Entry Exit System.

European Commission: ETIAS is ready for implementation at the end of 2022
Today the ETIAS system becomes interoperable so that it can be linked to the other EU information systems. This is an important step towards the introduction and entry into force of ETIAS, at the end of 2022.
EU entry ban: Which foreigners can travel to the Netherlands
There are exceptions to the EU entry ban. This applies to travelers from safe countries and certain groups such as business travelers, students, highly skilled migrants, professionals from the cultural and creative sector and long-distance lovers. Fully vaccinated people are also allowed to enter the EU, unless they come from a country that has been designated as a very high-risk area due to the presence of a worrying variant.
