Which countries (nationalities) require a visa for the Netherlands?
Anyone wishing to travel to the Netherlands for, for example, a holiday, family visit, or partner visit, and coming from outside the EU, sometimes needs a visa. We call this visa a Short-Stay Visa type C, or even simpler, a Schengen visa.
Because the Netherlands is part of the Schengen Area, you can visit as many as 26 European countries with one visa.
Nationality determines the visa requirement for foreigners
If you want to stay in the Netherlands for less than 90 days, you may need a Schengen visa. Whether you need a visa for the Netherlands depends on your nationality. Do you have more than 1 nationality? Then the passport you are traveling with determines whether you need a Schengen visa.
