The EU entry ban due to the corona crisis has been extended until May 15, 2020
Note: This information is no longer current. Since September 17, 2022, there are no longer any corona rules for travelers to the Netherlands. You can travel to the Netherlands without a long-distance relationship statement, proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or negative test result. If you are subject to a visa requirement, you must of course first apply for a Schengen visa.
From 19 March 2020, the entry conditions for people who want to travel to the Netherlands have been tightened. The EU's proposal for an entry ban for non-essential travel has been extended to May 15, 2020. The Dutch cabinet has decided to adopt this proposal.
It concerns a curtailment of all unnecessary travel by persons from third countries to Europe (all EU member states, all Schengen members and the UK) with the aim of preventing the spread of the COVID19 virus.
The flight bans for travelers from risk areas to the BES islands (Caribbean Netherlands) will be extended until April 28, 2020 at 18:00 PM. The European entry ban has no effect on the BES islands and the cabinet has therefore decided to extend the flight ban.
