Last year, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee refused more than 2.100 travelers at the border entry to the Netherlands. Most individuals were refused because they could pose a threat to public health.
Adjusted entry rules for the Netherlands for travelers outside the EU/Schengen
From 22 December 2021, new rules will apply to travelers from outside the EU/Schengen who depart for the Netherlands. They must always have a negative test result with them.
The Netherlands is tightening entry rules from countries outside Europe
From next Wednesday, stricter entry rules will apply to travelers from countries outside the Schengen area. Travelers from the so-called third countries must then be able to submit a negative test result, even if they have been fully vaccinated or have recently recovered from corona.
